Expander is a series of powerful and reliable grinding and polishing machines that are available in specifications from 4HP to 25HP and 530mm to 1000mm working widths, ideal for medium to large sized areas of work in both residential and commercial. With rigid grinding heads and full metal-gear planetary system with adjustable pressure the flatness of your floor is guaranteed with the Expander range. Also available with with remote control function that allows for completely autonomous working.
Remote Control and Autopilot
Klindex has developed a new and exclusive technology of remote automatic control for grinding and polishing machines. With this system called “Auto Pilot”, Klindex machines can use the Auto Pilot system to grind the entire area on their own, moving forward, turning, coming back and overlapping the grinding path leaving no areas untreated. This allows for the machine to continue working without interruption and for a more consistent finish than possible with manually operated machinery.

FLAT FLOORs with Rigid head planetary
The Expander range of floor grinders have many characteristics which allow the operator to achieve the ultimate FLAT FLOOR. With a fixed planetary gear driven head that works to grind all flooring surfaces flat, to the machine design which focuses all of the weight and grinding pressure over the top of the working section of the machine. In particular the Expander 1000 features a one metre (1000mm) wide working area with six planetary heads, which along with its 1.35 tonne weight delivers the ultimate flat floor.
Many machines available on the market are designed with a floating grinding head, this allows the machine to follow the contours of the floor and can at times leave a ‘wavy’ appearance to the floor. The combination of the floating head and lighter machine weight reduces the grinding ability of the machine to produce perfectly flat floors.

Features and Capabilities
Remote Control with Autopilot
Significantly reduce stress to the operator while increasing productivity – the perfect combination. The Autopilot is the next step in the evolution of floor grinding. The Autopilot is designed to allow the machine to work independently of the operator and run automatically, drastically reducing your labor costs.
Range of working widths
Available in sizes from 530mm to 1000mm, with grinding head size from 200mm to 240mm
Steel geared Planetary head
Planetary head is 100% tempered metal gear driven. Active planetary system means that the main disc and satellites always run, allowing the machine to work hard with high performance.
Rigid Head
The machine design does not focus weight and pressure upon the chassis to make the head ‘float’ over the floor but rather directly on the planetary heads. This ensures that the floor is not ‘wavy’ and that the machine is rigid over the top of the grinding area to ensure the flattest floor possible.
Third wheel
Third front wheel makes the machine easy to transportation and handle. It allows to regulate the working pressure and inclination on the planetary head which is useful when working on uneven floors.
Adjustable working head pressure
New technology which allows for better and easier grinding. The pressure is adjusted according to an electronic actuator.
Water Tank
Allows the option of working with Water during grinding and polishing.
Aluminium Shroud
Hood composed of high strength aluminium steel covers the working area to protect the diamond tools and allow the machine to work close to the wall
Effective weight distribution
The motor is placed directly over the top of the planetary head along with the water tank with three well balanced grinding heads for perfect balance and allow the highest grinding pressure available. The design allows the machine to work effectively on all surfaces, including concrete as well as all types of stone such as marble and granite.
Easy maintenance
A simple clean and grease performed on a regular basis ensures the bearings are well lubricated and extends the lifetime of the components considerably
No belts, a full steel gear driven planetary
A gear driven planetary grinder means lower operating costs than belt driven grinders, as belt changes are extremely expensive and time consuming. Also, belts do not transfer torque as effectively as gears meaning that less grinding pressure is available.
Handle
Adjustable position of the handle for a comfortable working position. It also can be reversed to allow the operator to drive the machine from in front and not only from the rear.
Splash guard
Machine comes with a tough, reinforced neoprene splash guard that works excellent for both wet and dry use.
Optional weights
